Nokia N95 8GB Black vs. iPod Touch

I’m really starting to miss my old camera now…I mean, it was not the best camera, but at least it was not as bad as the one on my current Nokia phone. I’m also itching for a new MP3 player. For now I’ve used my PDA, but the headphone plug is 95% broken, it can be impossible to get any sound from it sometimes…

Finding a new MP3 player is really hard though, because now that I’m used to my PDA (which automatically download all new podcasts via WLAN) I want something similar. It should at least have WLAN, I don’t want to go synch with my machine all the time…

The new iPod Touch has WLAN, but I’m wondering more and more about the Nokia N95 8GB Black phone because it has everything I need in a MP3 player (I think), I could also watch video podcasts (I think!), but also it is a phone and maybe a descent camera to boot! All-I-need in one device sounds very tempting. I don’t think it has a SD Micro memory slot, but if it had it would be the best device I have ever come across, and even without a SD Micro slot, with it’s 8GB memory it’s not really a required option…

Even though the iPod has a 0.7″ bigger screen (N95 has 2.8″, iPod Touch has 3.5″) it still is another device you have to carry around, so I am leaning towards the N95 here….except the fact that the iPod touch costs 2.290,- NOK and the N95 costs around 5-6000,- NOK and I would never overpay that much for a gadget. Maybe some day when I get rich. You know, never.

The massiveness of a Blue Dragon

I found this genius site called g-vip.com where you can rent games in Norway! Might not be so big news if you are overseas, but this is the first time I’ve ever seen a service like this since I was a kid here in Norway, and since I’m such a poor guy it’s perfect for me. There are many games that I always wanted to play, but not necessarily buy, or maybe just try it.

The actual reason I started writing this post is because I just received Blue Dragon, and let me tell you, it’s massive! Three DVD’s! What on earth did they put on this thing? Will I be playing this game forever? Three DVD’s!

I am officially worried.

My new sleep-routine

I wake up at around 5-6 am (which is 1-2 hours before my alarm), I take my alarm clock and drag my pillow and covers to the living room, close the door and fall asleep on the couch. Sometimes I do a preemptive strike and just go straight to the couch and fall asleep, skipping the bedroom altogether.

Why do I do this you ask? Because one of my cats has decided that walking around the house HOWLING and MEOWING all night is a good fucking idea.

If he does not stop this new habit when we move, there will be blood…Oh yes, there will be blood.

Downloadable Content - Penny Arcade

Sometimes it amazes me that the guys over at Penny-Arcade are able to produce a funny and coherent comic strip. Their comics often bring me much amusement, and their blog can be quite entertaining as well (not to mention damn hard to read.), but as evident from their latest podcast they are both, in fact, quite crazy.

It might not be instantly apparent, but I am trying to promote their podcast here. I seldom do a good job of recommending things, not because of my taste, but because I am never able to describe why I like something. If you like their comic strips and/or blog at all, I think you will enjoy their semi-monthly podcasts a lot. Whenever it shows up in my feed-reader, I smile and wait, so that I may savor it for when I am going to bed - which by the way is not always a good idea. Apart from laughing, I have actually woken up my girlfriend and asked her to listen to parts of it, on occasions. I think I might enjoy them because I am too, in fact, quite crazy.

Some time ago I ordered “My Boring-Ass Life” by Kevin Smith from Play.com, what I received was something else entirely. Now they finally sent me the correct book but they have not asked for the horribly wrong book in return. So now, I am stuck with this monstrosity in my bookshelf:
